Georges Jacobs
Georges Jacobs has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delhaize Group since January 1, 2005. He started his career as an economist with the IMF in Washington in 1966. He joined the UCB Group (a biopharmaceutical group based in Belgium) in 1970 and has been Chairman of its Executive Committee from 1987 until the end of 2004. Mr. Jacobs serves on the Board of Directors of Belgacom and Brussels Airlines. He has been President of BUSINESSEUROPE (formerly UNICE, Union of Industrial and Employers' Confederations of Europe) between 1998 and 2003. He is member of the Management Committee and Honorary Chairman of the Federation of Belgian Companies. Mr. Jacobs is a Doctor at Laws (UCL, Belgium), holds a Master's degree in Economic Sciences (UCL, Belgium), and a Master's degree in Economics (University of California, Berkeley, US).

Pierre-Olivier Beckers
Pierre-Olivier Beckers has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Delhaize Group since January 1, 1999. Mr. Beckers earned a Master’s degree in applied economics at I.A.G., Louvain-La-Neuve and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He began working in the food retail industry in 1982 as a store manager for a bakery chain in Belgium. Mr. Beckers joined Delhaize Group in 1983, to work initially for three years in the U.S. operations of Delhaize Group as a store manager. After his return to Belgium, he broadened his retail experience as a buyer, director of purchasing, member of the Executive Committee and Executive Vice President in charge of international activities. In January 2000, Mr. Beckers was named Manager of the Year by the leading Belgian business magazine Trends/Tendances. He is on the Board of Directors of the Food Marketing Institute and of CIES – The Food Business Forum (an international food business network serving as interface between more than 400 retailers and suppliers from 50 countries). In 2002-2004, he served as Chairman of CIES, and will again serve as Chairman of CIES in 2008-2010. In December 2004, he was elected to a four-year term as President of the BOIC (Belgian Olympic Committee). Mr. Beckers is also Board member of Guberna and The Belgian Corporate Governance Committee.

Claire Babrowski
Claire Babrowski is, since June 2007, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of Toys "R" Us, a specialty toy retailer operating more than 1,500 stores throughout the world. She started her career spending 30 years at McDonald's Corporation, where her last position was Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Restaurant Operations Officer. From 2005 to 2006, she worked for RadioShack, serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and then President, Chief Operating Officer and acting Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Babrowski holds a Master in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina. In 1998, she received the Emerging Leader Award from the U.S. Women's Service Forum. She is a member of the "Committee of 200", a professional U.S. organization of preeminent women entrepreneurs and corporate leaders

François Cornélis
Mr. Cornélis (58) has been Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of Total and President of its chemicals division since 2003. He joined PetroFina in 1973 and was appointed CEO and Managing Director of PetroFina in 1990. He became Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee first of Totalfina after the merger of Total with PetroFina in 1999, and in 2000 of TotalFinaElf (renamed Total in 2003) after the merger with Elf. Mr. Cornélis is Chairman of the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) and the Royal Automobile Club of Belgium and a member of the Global Advisory Council of The Conference Board and Chairman of its European Steering Committee. He is also Director of Sofina. Mr. Cornélis holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), Belgium.

Arnoud de Pret Roose de Calesberg
Arnoud de Pret Roose de Calesberg was from 1991 to 2000 a member of the Executive Committee and Chief Financial Officer of the Belgian metals company Umicore. Previously he was a member of the Executive Committee and Chief Financial Officer of the Belgian pharmaceutical company UCB. Currently, Arnoud de Pret is, among others, member of the Board of Directors of the brewery company Inbev, Umicore, SIBELCO and UCB. Arnoud de Pret holds a Commercial Engineer's degree from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), Belgium.

Jacques de Vaucleroy
Jacques de Vaucleroy is member of the Executive Board of ING Group and CEO of ING Insurance Europe. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector. Jacques de Vaucleroy obtained a law degree (Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium) and a Master in Business Law (Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium).

Hugh Farrington
After a retail management career starting in 1968 at Hannaford, a U.S. subsidiary of Delhaize Group, Mr. Farrington served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Hannaford from 1992 to 2001. In 2000, he was appointed as Vice Chairman of Delhaize America, and in 2001, he became Executive Vice President of Delhaize Group and member of its Board of Directors. In 2003, Mr. Farrington left the Board of Directors and resigned from his executive functions within the Group. Mr. Farrington holds a Bachelors degree from Dartmouth College and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of New Hampshire.

Richard Goblet d'Alviella
Richard Goblet d'Alviella has been the Chief Executive Officer of Sofina S.A., a Belgian financial holding company, since 1989. Mr. Goblet d'Alviella is a member of the board of directors of Sofina as well as a number of the companies in which Sofina has interests or is affiliated, such as Suez, Eurazeo, Danone and Caledonia Investments. Prior to joining Sofina, Mr. Goblet d'Alviella was a Managing Director of the Paine Webber Group and he has a 15-year background in international investment banking in London and New York. Mr. Goblet d'Alviella holds a Commercial Engineer's degree from Université Libre de Bruxelles, Brussels, and a Master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School. Mr. Goblet d'Alviella was elected to the Board of Directors of Delhaize Group in 2001.

Robert J. Murray
Robert J. Murray has been Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of New England Business Service, Inc. from 1995 to 2004. From 1997 to 2001, Mr. Murray was a member of the Board of Directors of Hannaford. Mr. Murray retired from The Gillette Company in 1995, having been with Gillette for more than 34 years. From 1991 until his retirement in 1995, Mr. Murray was Executive Vice President, North Atlantic Group of Gillette. Mr. Murray is a director of LoJack Corporation, The Hannover Insurance Group, Tupperware Brands and the IDEXX Corp. Mr. Murray is a graduate of Boston College and holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University. Mr. Murray was elected to the Board of Directors of Delhaize Group in 2001.

William Roper
William Roper is Dean of the UNC (University of North Carolina) School of Medicine and CEO of the UNC Health Care System. Until March 2004, he was Dean of the UNC School of Public Health at Chapel Hill. He is also a professor of health policy and administration in the School of Public Health, and a professor of pediatrics in the School of Medicine at UNC-CH. Before joining UNC-CH in 1997, Dr. Roper was senior vice president of Prudential HealthCare. Prior to that, he was director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and served on the senior White House staff. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, and his Masters in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health. He completed his residency in pediatrics at the University of Colorado Medical Center.

Didier Smits
Didier Smits received a Master's degree in economic and financial sciences at I.C.H.E.C. in Brussels. In 1996, he was elected Director of Delhaize Group and he still serves as a non-executive director of Delhaize Group. From 1986 to 1991, Mr. Smits was a Manager at Advanced Technics Company. In 1991, Mr. Smits became Managing Director of Papeteries Aubry SPRL.

Jack Stahl
Mr. Stahl (1953) last served in the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of cosmetics company Revlon from 2002 until his retirement in September 2006. Prior to joining Revlon, Mr. Stahl had a 22-year career as an executive with the Coca Cola Company culminating in the role of President and Chief Operating Officer. He also served as Chief Financial Officer and Group President of Coca Cola North America. Mr. Stahl started his professional career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen & Co. Mr. Stahl currently serves on the Boards of pharmaceutical company Schering-Plough and the soft drinks company Dr. Pepper Snapple Group. He is also a Board member of several non-profit organizations such as The Boys and Girls Clubs of America and The United Negro College Fund.

Luc Vansteenkiste
Luc Vansteenkiste is Chief Executive Officer of the Belgian foam production company Recticel. He is President of the Board of Directors of the Belgian photo-finishing company Spector Photo Group and of Telindus Group and member of the Board of the Belgian companies Sioen, Ter Beke Vleeswaren, Compagnie du Bois Sauvage and Fortis Bank. Mr. Vansteenkiste is Board member of Guberna. Mr. Vansteenkiste earned his degree in civil engineering at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium.

Georges Jacobs

Pierre-Olivier Beckers
Pierre-Olivier Beckers est Administrateur Délégué et Président du Comité de Direction du Groupe Delhaize depuis le 1er janvier 1999, et Chief Executive Officer de Delhaize America depuis Septembre 2002. M. Beckers a obtenu un Master en économies appliquées à l'I.A.G., Louvain-la-Neuve et un Master's degree (M.B.A.) en gestion commerciale à la Harvard Business School. M. Beckers a rejoint le secteur de la distribution alimentaire en 1982 comme directeur de magasin d'une chaîne de boulangerie en Belgique. En 2000, M. Beckers a été nommé Manager de l'Année, une distinction décernée par le magazine commercial belge Trends/Tendances. Il est membre du Conseil d'Administration du Food Marketing Institute et du CIES-Food Business Forum (réseau international du secteur alimentaire servant d'interface entre distributeurs et fournisseurs), et sera à nouveau Président du CIES de 2008 à 2010. En décembre 2004, il a été élu, pour une période de 4 ans, Président du COIB (Comité Olympique et Interfédéral Belge). M. Claire Babrowski

Claire Babrowski Monsieur Cornélis

Monsieur Cornélis (58) est depuis 2003 Vice-président du Comité Exécutif de Total et Président de sa division Chimie. Il a rejoint PetroFina en 1973 et a été nommé Directeur Général et Administrateur Délégué de Petrofina en 1990. Il devient Vice-président du Comité Exécutif d’abord de TotalFina après la fusion de Total et de PetroFina en 1999, et en 2000 de TotalFinaElf (renommé Total en 2003) après la fusion avec Elf. Monsieur Cornélis est également Président du CEFIC, du Royal Automobile Club de Belgique et membre du Global Advisory Council de The Conference Board et Président de son Steering Committee européen. Il est également administrateur de Sofina. Monsieur Cornélis a obtenu un diplôme d’ingénieur civil de l’Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) en Belgique.

Arnoud de Pret Roose de Calesberg
Arnoud de Pret Roose de Calesberg a été, de 1991 à 2000, membre du Comité de Direction et Directeur Financier du groupe non-ferreux belge Umicore. Auparavant, il était membre du Comité de Direction et Directeur Financier de la société pharmaceutique belge UCB. Actuellement, Arnoud de Pret est, entre autres, membre du Conseil d'Administration du groupe brassicole Inbev et de Umicore. Arnoud de Pret est Ingénieur Commercial de l'Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), Belgique.

Jacques de Vaucleroy

Georges Jacobs
Georges Jacobs is Voorzitter van de Raad van Bestuur van Delhaize Groep sinds 1 januari 2005. Hij begon zijn loopbaan in 1966 als economist bij het Internationaal Monetair Fonds (IMF) in Washington. Beckers behaalde een Master in toegepaste economische wetenschappen aan het I.A.G. in Louvain-La-Neuve en een MBA aan de Harvard Business School. Hij begon zijn loopbaan in de voedingsdistributie in 1982 als winkelmanager voor een bakkerijketen in België. Dhr. Beckers vervoegde Delhaize Groep in 1983 en werkte eerst drie jaar als winkeldirecteur in de Amerikaanse activiteiten van de Groep. Na zijn terugkeer naar België verruimde hij zijn ervaring in de distributie als aankoper, directeur aankoop, lid van het Directiecomité en Uitvoerend Ondervoorzitter van het Directiecomité, verantwoordelijk voor de internationale activiteiten. In januari 2000 ontving hij de titel van Manager van het Jaar, een prestigieuze onderscheiding die wordt toegekend door het Belgische zakenblad Trends/Tendances. Hij zetelt in de Raad van Bestuur van het Food Marketing Institute en van CIES - The Food Business Forum (een internationaal netwerk voor de voedingsindustrie dat een ontmoetingsplaats vormt tussen distributeurs en leveranciers), en werdt opnieuw Voorzitter van CIES in 2008-2010. In December 2004 werd hij voor 4 jaar verkozen tot Voorzitter van de BOIC (Belgisch Olympisch en Interfederaal Comité). Dhr. Beckers is ook lid van de Raad van Bestuur van Guberna en The Belgian Corporate Governance Committee.

Sinds juni 2007 bekleedt Mevrouw Babrowski de functie van Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer bij Toys “R” Us, een speelgoedketen die meer dan 1.500 winkels over de hele wereld uitbaat. De heer de Vaucleroy is lid van de Executive Board ING Group en CEO of ING Insurance Europe. Hij heeft meer dan 20 jaar ervaring in de sector van de financiële dienstverlening. In 2003 verliet de heer Farrington de Raad van Bestuur en nam hij ontslag uit zijn uitvoerende functies binnen de Groep. De heer Farrington behaalde een Bachelor's degree aan het Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire en een Master of Arts in Teaching aan de University of New Hampshire.

Richard Goblet d'Alviella
Richard Goblet d'Alviella is sinds 1989 Afgevaardigd Bestuurder van de or Belgische financiële holding Sofina S.A. Dhr. Goblet d'Alviella is lid van de Raad van Bestuur van Sofina evenals van een aantal ondernemingen waar Sofina een belang in aanhoudt of mee verbonden is, zoals Suez, Eurazeo, Danone en Caledonia Investments. Voordat hij Sofina vervoegde was dhr. Goblet d'Alviella Algemeen Directeur van de Paine Webber Groep. Hij werkte 15 jaar in internationale zakenbanken in Londen en New York. Dhr. Goblet d'Alviella is Handelsingenieur, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Brussel, en heeft een MBA van de Harvard Business School. Dhr. Goblet d'Alviella werd lid van de Raad van Bestuur van Delhaize Groep in 2001.

Robert J. Murray
Robert J. Murray was, tussen 1995 en 2004, Voorzitter van de Raad van Bestuur en Afgevaardigd Bestuurder van New England Business Service, Inc. Van 1997 tot 2001 was Dhr. Murray lid van de Raad van Bestuur van Hannaford Bros. In 1995 verliet Dhr. Murray na 34 jaar The Gillette Company. Vanaf 1991 tot zijn vertrek was Dhr. Murray Executive Vice President, North Atlantic Groep van Gillette. Dhr. Murray is Bestuurder van LoJack Corporation, The Hannover Insurance Group, Tupperwarebrands end The Idexx Corp. Dhr. Murray is gediplomeerde van het Boston College en heeft een MBA van Northeastern University. Hij werd verkozen in de Raad van Bestuur van Delhaize Groep in 2001.

William Roper
William Roper is Decaan van The UNC (University of North Carolina) School of Medicine en CEO van The UNC Health Care System sinds maart 2004. Voorheen is hij Decaan geweest van The UNC School of Public Health te Chapel Hill, waar hij gezondheidsbeleid en -administratie doceert. Hij is eveneens professor pediatrie aan de faculteit geneeskunde van de UNC-CH. Vooraleer hij in 1997 UNC-CH vervoegde, was Dr. Roper Senior Vice President van Prudential HealthCare. Voordien was hij directeur van de "U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)" en medewerker van het Witte Huis. Hij behaalde zijn Master's Degree aan de faculteit geneeskunde van de universiteit van Alabama, en zijn Master of Public Health Degree aan de "Birmingham School of Public Health" van de universiteit van Alabama. Hij vervolmaakte zijn pediatrieopleiding aan het medisch centrum van de universiteit van Colorado.

Didier Smits
Didier Smits behaalde een licentie in economische en financiële wetenschappen aan het I.C.H.E.C. in Brussel. In 1996 werd hij Bestuurder van Delhaize Groep en tot op vandaag is hij niet-uitvoerend Bestuurder van de Groep. Dhr. Smits was manager van Advanced Technics Company van 1986 tot 1991. In 1991 werd hij Managing Director van Papeteries Aubry SPRL.

Jack Stahl
De heer Stahl's (1953) recentste functie was Voorzitter en Chief Executive Officer van het cosmeticabedrijf Revlon van 2002 tot zijn pensioen in september 2006. Vóór hij bij Revlon aan de slag ging had de heer Stahl een 22 jaar lange managementcarrière bij Coca Cola achter de rug, die hij beëindigde als Voorzitter en Chief Operating Officer. Hij bekleedde ook de functie van Chief Financial Officer en Group President van Coca Cola North America. De heer Stahl startte zijn professionele carrière als auditor bij Arthur Andersen & Co. De heer Stahl is momenteel lid van de Raad van Bestuur van het farmaceutisch bedrijf Schering-Plough en de frisdrankproducent Dr. Pepper Snapple Group. Tevens is hij lid van de Raad van Bestuur van verschillende non-profit organisaties zoals The Boys and Girls Clubs of America en The United Negro College Fund.

Luc Vansteekiste
De heer Vansteenkiste is Afgevaardigd Bestuurder van de Belgische schuimrubberproducent Recticel. Hij is Voorzitter van de Raad van Bestuur van de Belgische fotofinishinggroep Spector Photo Group en van Telindus Groep en lid van de Raad van Bestuur van de Belgische beursgenoteerde ondernemingen Sioen, Ter Beke Vleeswaren en Compagnie du Bois Sauvage en van de Raad van Bestuur van Fortis Bank. De heer Vansteenkiste is bestuurslid van Guberna. De heer Vansteenkiste behaalde een diploma burgerlijk ingenieur aan de Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, België.
